Film Details

Our June 5, 2013 meeting will focus on the principles and ideals that are the foundation of our fraternity.  We are delighted to invite you and your guests to an evening with Dr. Perry Brickman featuring the film listed above.

In October 2012, Emory University President, Jim Wagner formally apologized to the Jewish dental students who were victims of blatent anti-Semitism from 1948-1961 during the deanship of John Buhler.  The investigative work of Dr. Brickman, and Emory dental student during this era and now a retired oral surgeon resulted in a documentary detailing the emotional wounds these Jewish dental students suffered.  We are honored that Dr. Brickman will be with us for the evening.

We are adding an element of Judaism, Tikkun Olum (repairing the world) by designating this event a fundraiser with proceeds earmarked for Dental Volunteers for Israel (DVI).  Local dentists who have volunteered for DVI will be recognized during the evening and information about DVI will be available.  For additional information about DVI and volunteering please visit www.americanfriendsofdvi.org.

Please click on the flyer for futher details and plan to join us on June 5 when we host the community for an interesting and thought provoking evening. If you are unable to attend the program please consider joining your fellow fraters in making a donation to American Friends of Dental Volunteers for Israel.
